Orange and T-Mobile Customers to Share Networks

Since Orange and T-Mobile merged to form Everything Everywhere there have been many rumours surrounding the possibility of the networks of the two brands being merged to form one massive mobile network. It’s now been announced that this will be happening, well sort of anyway.

Customers of both networks are being invited to sign up for the chance to access the other company’s network, using whichever provides the strongest signal at the time. The change is also hoped to increase the speed and coverage of the data networks of the two companies.

It’s clear that the Orange and T-Mobile brands are both too valuable to Everything Everywhere to make combining them a sensible option. Both networks still offer different tariffs and different exclusive handsets so there is still plenty of competition between the two, only now customers of both companies have the opportunity to benefit from the merger by potentially increasing the number of areas where they can get coverage.

Since the two companies have over 30 million customers between them in the UK it means almost half the population will have the opportunity to benefit from this move, including many Compare and Recycle customers. The ability to use both networks will start becoming available from October 5th.
